My First…

I am excited to write my first post for Low Gear. I will refer to my past experiences with cars in coming posts as well as thoughts on upcoming cars coming to market, cars I have driven, car comparisons and much more.

A little bit about me. My friends know me as the CarMan. I like to tell others I am an Automobile Savant. Cars are really all I think about other than women. I have driven everything from a 72 Jaguar E-Type V12 to a 2002 Lamborghini Diablo VTT to a 1966 Mustang to a 2009 Ferrari 599. I work in Austin TX for a Travel .com site leading a sales team. Enough of that 🙂

When I was 17 years young, I was blessed with a 2001 Subaru 2.5 RS. She will always be my first. I had two solid years with her and so many memories.

Since my Subie, I have been through roughly 23 cars. The reason that # is so high is I spent a year or so in college flipping cars on the side. I flipped everything from a 1996 Chevy Caviler in 2 hours for $500 profit to a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo where I suffered a $3000 loss. In coming posts, I will speak to some of the cars I have been priviledged to own and drive.

I was able to attend Skip Barber Racing school when I was 16 years old at Leguna Seca Mazda Raceway. I will also speak to this as it was the best week of my life.

Question for our viewers.. – What was your first car? How long did you have her? Anything you remember most? Till next time! JL
