The Trailer For The Upcoming Steve McQueen Documentary Is Out And It Looks AWESOME

James Dean. James Garner. Paul Newman. Steve McQueen. Patrick Dempsey. What’s the common thread? They were all actors yes, but they were also fond of motor racing. Garner was in the Epic movie Grand Prix and raced in the Baja 1000. Newman raced GT cars all over the globe; as was excellently shown in a documentary released earlier this summer called “Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman.” This brings me neatly to McQueen. The best movie he ever did was “Le Mans.” Another documentary is coming out soon that goes behind the scenes of the movie which is considered by many to be the greatest racing movie of all time. Below is the trailer. Enjoy.

STEVE MCQUEEN: THE MAN & LE MANS is the story of obsession, betrayal and ultimate vindication. It is the story of how one of the most volatile, charismatic stars of his generation, who seemingly lost so much he held dear in the pursuit of his dream, nevertheless followed it to the end.

His father was a gear head and passed on the tradition through owning such classics as a '66 Mustang and a '59 Corvette all while taking him to various race tracks in the area. Chad likes to wrench on his rides whenever possible, forgoing the stealership. Chad is an avid motorsports fan with particular interest in endurance/sports car racing. When not online writing for Shifting Lanes, you can find him working at the local golf course teaching people how to swing or hooning a golf cart at impossible speeds.
