Johnny O’Connell’s ATS-V.R Gets A New Look

Defending Pirelli World Challenge GT Champion Johnny O’Connell will be sporting a brand new livery for the 2016 season. Officially called Velocity Red, Johnny’s new livery made it’s debut at the PWC open test at Circut of the Americas Feb 15th. The new look is a far departure from the black based livery from last season. The new color is part marketing scheme part a way to honor Johnny’s 4 straight GT Titles.

“Cadillac has chosen Velocity Red to celebrate Johnny O’Connell’s 2015 Pirelli World Challenge GT Driver Championship,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, Cadillac Chief Marketing Officer.

The Team car will continue in the 2015 black livery. Personally, I like the old look better. What I would like even more, is to see Cadillac race the ATS-V.R outside of the PWC. Maybe at Daytona or Sebring in the IMSA WeatherTec Series. Or even better take the American beast abroad and race at Bathurst for the 12 hour or at Spa/Nurburgring 24 hours. In any rate if you like the new look you can officially get Velocity Red as an optional color for your 2016 ATS.
