You Can Now Buy One Of Hurley Haywood’s Race Cars

Hurley Haywood is known for 2 things, driving fast and epic hair. Haywood shares the record for overall wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona with Scott Pruett with 5. Haywood did most of his winning in a Porsche but one of his lesser known race weapons has recently come up for sale. The Trans Am Championship winning Audi 200 Quattro. The 200 Quattro was a 510 horsepower all wheel drive beast that dominated the more powerful competition. The 2.1 liter turbocharged 5 cylinder may have been down on power to its rivals but the AWD system more than made up for it. The 200 Quattro got its power to the ground more effectively. This dominated the competition so comprehensively that it was immediately outlawed for the following season. As if Haywood and his hair wasn’t enough Walter Rohrl, and Hans-Joachim Stuck also drove this car. The price wasn’t listed but interested buyers should contact The Auto Collections. We can safely assume that it isn’t cheap but should you have an over abundance of cash we recommend you buy it. If for nothing else, the sound, that glorious turbo 5 cylinder sound!
