The Most French Thing On 4 Wheels

The Geneva Auto Show has been a blizzard of high performance dream machines. Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Porsche even Corvette all debuted new models designed to tear the laws of physics a new one. These are the vehicles we all dream of. It is nearly impossible to use all 1000+ horsepower on the roads without resulting in a fiery death or at the very least angering Johnny Law. Citroen took a decidedly different approach. They brought a vehicle that look like it was designed by Stevie Wonder and a hatchet. It’s an EV and Citroen calls it the E-Meharifor. Being a French Electric Vehicle surrender after 124 miles. After which you will need Churchill, Roosevelt and a minimum 8 hour recharge to get going again. This concept was designed by Courreges. Not familiar with Courreges? Don’t worry we weren’t either. Apparently they are a French “Fashion House” and they were tasked with making the E-Meharifor chic-er. For the record, every single word in that last sentence angers me.

The standard E-Meharifor is not the worst looking thing on 4 wheels. However, let some Frenchist fashion designer have a go with it, and the end result is a predictable pile of terrible hideous-ness. The proportions are all wrong. The wheels are too small, and apart from some yellow on the wheels everything is white. White only looks good on cars in the rarest of occasions, all white is just a disaster. It gets worse, included in the vehicle is bespoke luggage, adorned in the seemingly required white leather. Really? I have no words. This is a small city EV that will be driven by some pompous jackwagon who will bore your ears off about how they’re saving the planet and driving the future. YAWN! As an added “bonus” this particular model is a “fashion house” edition so you know the French arrogance is going to be dialed all the way to 11. Absolutely no good can ever come of that, under any circumstance. Well there is only one proper response to that, get in a Corvette, do some gratuitous burnouts, drive home while getting 15 mpg. When you get home, pour yourself a glass of good whiskey, smoke a good cigar, and blast some Led Zeppelin IV!
