Goodwood’s Vintage F1 Racing Never Gets Old

If you are unfamiliar with the Goodwood Festival of Speed it’s like the Monterey Historics only very, very, very British. Every year Lord March hosts an event where all manner of automotive brilliance is seen and most importantly. Thanks to the good Lord, we get to experience the very best of automotive history. Both in the legendary Hill Climb and historic races. 1 such race is the 50’s & 60’s F1 cars. This was a simpler time. A time where F1 was little more than the most powerful engine they could stuff into the sleekest body they could find. It was glorious, and at Goodwood you can experience what those cars were like at full chat. Now enjoy watching Ferraris, Maserati’s, BRM’s Lotus’ and so on and so on do battle on the Goodwood road course.

About Chad Kennedy

Chad burst from the womb wearing a racing suit and a helmet. Chad's passion for cars is in his very DNA. His father was a gear head and passed on the tradition through owning such classics as a '66 Mustang and a '59 Corvette all while taking him to various race tracks in the area. Chad likes to wrench on his rides whenever possible, forgoing the stealership. Chad is an avid motorsports fan with particular interest in endurance/sports car racing. When not online writing for Shifting Lanes, you can find him working at the local golf course teaching people how to swing or hooning a golf cart at impossible speeds.
