Jay Leno And Tim Allen Is America’s Response To Clarkson, Hammond, And May

Top Gear has had a great run up until it was ruined by some unfortunate circumstances. And then it was further destined for failure when it was rebooted for series 23. For awhile many worried that the days of automotive entertainment might be gone, only to be forever replaced with old reruns of Top Gear. While we wait for The Grand Tour to grace our streaming screens, there are other great alternatives are totally worth your time.

Jay Leno’s Garage surprisingly has had some really interesting things happening in the show. The most interesting event is probably him almost dying in a 2,500 horsepower stunt car that managed to roll over and over and over again. In the latest episode, Jay invites arch rival Tim Allen for a sleeper car race. They both showcased their “stock” cars, with Jay initially showing off his 1966 Dodge Coronet with a 426 Hemi. When Tim showed up in a highly modified 1955 Ford Club Coupe, that’s been surgically implanted with a supercharged Ford GT engine, Jay had other tricks up his sleeve.

We haven’t seen much interaction between these two guys, but given enough airtime and plenty of adventures, we might be on to something that can be as great as the old Top Gear Trio, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. We think American has to get on the ball with these two and get them a proper automotive show! What do you think America?
