Clarkson Hammond and May discuss Supercars in this Lost Top Gear Footage

You remember the Old Top Gear film where Clarkson, Hammond and May Drive their Supercars of choice across Italy?  Clarkson chose the Lamborghini Aventador because he’s Clarkson and no car company screams Jeremy Clarkson more than Lamborghini. Hammond chose the Noble M600 because he’s Hammond. Lastly, May chose the McLaren MP4-12C because the 12C is a techno-nerd-fest and that’s May in a nutshell. We all know the process; they took the cars for a high speed run as well as an economy run, because supercar owners need to know these things. Because when you spend 6 figures on a car you absolutely need the car that is both the fastest and uses the least amount of fuel. Eventually the boys end up at Imola but not before Hammond’s Noble eats its own clutch. Having received a brand new one the trio made it to Imola for some hot laps and all in all it made for some epic television. Especially since Clarkson’s Lambo latterly spit fire, which anyone will tell you is the most important feature of any car ever.

I was poking around the internet as I usually do, looking for article ideas and doing just a wonderful job of general procrastination when I came across this. It is some footage that ended up on the cutting room floor. For the life of me I cannot understand why. As is most things Clarkson, Hammond and May it is pure gold. Though I guess with those guys if you put in everything the episodes would have been 2 hours long and the BBC wouldn’t go for it. In any rate enjoy some Top Gear footage that didn’t make it to air.
