Ford Is About To Produce The 2 Trucks Everyone’s Been Waiting 20 Years For.

When we found out that Ford was most certainly not leaving the US, much to the chagrin of Donald Trump, there was an interesting tidbit that came about from a conversation between the Detroit Free Press and a United Auto Workers (UAW) rep.

According to reports, Bill Johnson, the aforementioned UAW rep, let it slip that the Ford Bronco and the Ford Ranger will be coming back. The Ranger is the small truck that the world has been getting ever since 1971 as it’s still available overseas, but not here in the states. That’s going to make a lot of people happy. But the Bronco is something that was killed off in 1996 and had a huge cult following because who puts 2-doors on an SUV other than Jeep? No one of note, that’s who. The Bronco is anAmerican Icon and it’s going to be back in a BIG way.

Here are some fan renderings from the past few years.

We’ve reported on the resurgence of the Bronco before, but this is a confirmed happening. And we even have a potential date or 2018 or 2020 as some outlets have reported.

Johnson felt the need to clear the air after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump falsely accused Ford of cutting U.S. jobs during the first Presidential debate.

“I think Trump needs to get his facts straight,” Johnson told the Freep. “He is absolutely beating up on Ford for doing what everybody else has already done.”

“We hate to see the products go to Mexico, but with the Ranger and the Bronco comingto Michigan Assembly, that absolutely secures the future for our people a lot more than the Focus does,” Johnson said.

So once the Mexico plant is squared away and manufacturing moved down south for the Focus and C-max, that’ll open up room for the Bronco and Ranger to be built in their Wayne, Michigan plant. Of course the above images are just renders, but I’m a HUGE fan of the second one. I can only hope they make something so ballsy.

Only time will tell, but it looks like the truck market is back with a vengeance.
