Call of Duty has consumed vast quantities of my life. There is no doubt about it, CoD is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time and based on their run away freight train sales I’m obviously not alone. However in recent years they have gone this futuristic route that irks me and fellow gamers. So much so that their next installment, Infinite Warfare has come under fire from CoD purists. Some of my gaming buddies are even unsure about purchasing it. This is a far cry from previous installments when the question wasn’t, “Are you going to get the next CoD?” but rather “Why haven’t you Pre-Ordered it yet?”
The question you might be asking yourself is what in the hell does this have to do with car culture? Sure it is one of the most successful franchises in the history of everything but Shifting Lanes is a car site. First person shooters are hardly in our usual wheelhouse. The answer to that is in one of the game’s cameos. Uber, Mega, Ultra F1 Superstar Lewis Hamilton has lent his likeness and voice to one of the game’s characters.
Hamilton, who will appear in 6 scenes during the game’s single player mode is understandably stoaked.
“I grew up with Super Mario, where the graphics were outdated at the time. It’s crazy to see how far it (computer games) went – the realization is unbelievable. I loved it, it was a great experience, I am incredibly honored to be part of this game. I’ve been a fan for years.”
Hamilton also tweeted the news.
