REPORT: 707 Horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk To Be Unveiled Next Week

Ever since we knew about the Dodge Hellcat, enthusiasts have been seeking where FCA might drop the engine next. The Demon is coming out and we’ll be there live as it’s unveiled on April 11th, the day before the New York International Auto Show. But the Demon will have an upgraded engine, or at least we think so, given the insane amount of teasers we’ve been given.

One vehicle everyone though the engine would be ripe for was the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Last year, Jeep dropped it in to a Wrangler and created a snarling, one-off monster called the Trailcat.

But now we have GOOD NEWS, everyone! It looks like that Trackhawk is actually going to be made. According to Carbuzz:

We already know, more or less, what the finished beast of an SUV will look like, but it’s what’s under the hood that’s making us all giddy: the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 with 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Currently, the fastest and most powerful Grand Cherokee you can buy is the SRT, with a total of 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of twist. Jeep claims it can do 0-60 mph in a respectable 4.9 seconds, but the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is expected to do the same sprint in around 3 seconds. Exterior changes will almost certainly include hood vents, larger air intakes up front, new wheel designs, and plenty of Hellcat badges. Pricing may also be announced next week, and we predict it’ll be less than six-figures, at least its base price.

Pricing is hugely speculative and we won’t comment on it at this time (coughprobably$85,000orlesscough). Oops.

It looks like we’ll be seeing what this thing actually looks like next week, but this above and below photos should be a near accurate representation.

For now, here’s what this engine can do in a Wrangler offroad. SWOON!
