Have you heard of Rimac Automobili? They’re a Croatian car company that develops and produces electric vehicles. They came out with the Concept_One back in 2013 and claimed to be the fastest electric vehicle and the first electric supercar, when their Concept_One was able to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. This is possible due to the four individual motors that drive the four wheels, a system Rimac Automobili calls, “All-Wheel Torque Vectoring”
According to Rimac Automobili:
Each wheel can independently accelerate or decelerate hundreds of times per second, helping to achieve the desired (driver selectable) handling. Together with the very low center of gravity, extremely high torque available almost from zero RPM and the lack of shift interruptions, the Concept_One delivers a completely new driving experience.
The company has unveiled the first production version of the Concept_One in the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Enjoy the pictures below courtesy of Rimac Automobili
What do you think of the Concept_One? Will Tesla have something to worry about?
