New Top Gear Presenter Has Some Serious Driving Skills

Sabine Schmitz will be one of the six presenters in the new Top Gear show, and she can really DRIVE! If you’ve never heard of her, she’s most well known as the “Queen of the Nurburgring” or the “World’s fastest Taxi Driver”. She has earned that reputation because she has driven around the ring more than 30,000 times! Usually in the BMW-Ring Taxi, shuttling passengers for her own company, Sabine Schmitz Motorsports. She has also appeared on the Top Gear show where she taught Jeremy Clarkson the ins and outs of the Ring. In that episode Jeremy managed to complete the Ring in 9 minutes 59 seconds in a diesel Jaguar S-Type, to which she responded: “I do that lap time in a van.” She then used a diesel engined Ford Transit in a later episode where she completed the Ring in 10 minutes 8 seconds.

This video shows Sabine’s driving abilities and is further proof that “practice makes perfect” is one of the truest adage of all time. She takes a Porsche 911 GT3R through the crowded and wet Nurburgring and DESTROYS everyone in her path.
