Top Gear USA Still Exists?

With all the attention given to the ruckus behind the new Top Gear crew and the hype behind the “The Still Very Much Untitled Clarkson Hammond May Amazon Prime Show Coming Autumn 2016,” let’s not forget about the United States Top Gear spawn that’s coming out in a couple of weeks. The Top Gear USA trio, Rutledge Wood, Adam Ferrara, and Tanner Foust will be starting off, believe it or not, their 6th season, this April 26th at 9PM on History Channel.

This return is after a 18-month hiatus, and we hope they used all of that time and energy to focus on the 6th season. According to Starpulse.com:

In Season 6 of Top Gear, the guys rack up even more driving miles as they head to Cuba for some drag racing in one episode and in another strive to photo map the legendary Rubicon Trail that spans 22 miles of the western United States.

They also undertake more ambitious challenges that will put their creativity to the test and possibly prove hazardous to their health, such as trying to build an improved mail delivery vehicle, training in war games alongside members of the U.S. Army, and participating in their first-ever endurance race…

Along the way the show will feature some of the most high-profile cars in the motor industry, including the Koenigsegg One:1, Tesla Model S P90D, and Dodge Viper ACR. Just hope that Adam brings them back in one piece.

The Top Gear USA show has received negative criticism from the get go. It has been called an “insult to the actual Top Gear” before it has even aired back in 2011. Now that the actual Top Gear, which hasn’t even aired, seems to be more hated than the Ebola Virus, all car shows are in flux and are fair game to be called “Best Automotive Television Program.”

We suggest you actually tune in to check out the American version of this highly popular show, because the chemistry that was thought to be lacking seems to have materialized in the later seasons. Since we have some time until the Amazon Prime behemoth, starring the Top Gear UK alums, comes out in the Fall of 2016, we’ll be watching reruns of Top Gear USA until season 6 comes out in a couple of weeks.
