Our friends over at Car Throttle just sent their own, Alex Kersten, to be the very first passenger driven in a Bugatti Chiron around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The Bugatti Chiron is the car that sounds like a bear fighting a rhinoceros, so let’s just say we’re a bit miffed we didn’t get an invitation to the Chiron party. In the video, a very giddy Alex (who wouldn’t be?) got the rare opportunity to be driven by the President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S Wolfgang Dürheimer. Alex also explains the neat little details about the car. Did you know that:
The Bugatti Chiron will reach:
- 0-62 mph: 2.5 seconds
- 0-124 mph: 6.5 seconds
- 0-186 mph: 13.6 seconds
The Bugatti Chiron’s 8 liter two-stage quad turbo engine needs: “60,000 liters of oxygen is sent through the engine per minute of operation.” And it drains a 100 liter tank (about 26.5 gallons) of gasoline in about 9 minutes at top speed
The Chiron also has a speedometer that goes all the way up to 500 kph?! That’s 310 miles per hour…
Enjoy the video below and try to pinpoint the time when Alex starts to get a little car sick as he’s constantly thrown around in the 2 ton behemoth.
