You should know by now that the controversial Chris Evans, host of the highly controversial new Top Gear, has made a not so surprising announcement that he’s stepping down. We predicted this outcome not too long ago because of dwindling ratings and general disappointment from the fans. Now the fans have spoken loudly and reacted to his resignation via gifs and by channeling their inner Jeremy Clarkson. Here are some of the best from Twitter:

Even though we saw this coming ever since the beginning of the season, we totally did not expect his resignation to come on the heels of a sexual assault investigation from the police! Now that Top Gear has ended season 23 the BBC can rethink its show and format as they shuffle their cast members and get ready for a September shoot. For gear heads everywhere around the world, the next big thing in the horizon is The Grand Tour starting in the Fall 2016, with its first live show in Johannesburg, South Africa.
