The Lamborghini Centenario is not just any new Lamborghini, it is the 100 year celebration of Lamborghini’s founder Ferrucio Lamborghini. You can say this one is Lamborghini at its Lamborghiniest. Sporting a naturally aspirated V12 producing 770 horsepower, the black and yellow bull can go from 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in just 2.8 seconds. It was one of the most astonishing cars to have been revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, which says a lot because there were several reveals that were just as incredible, such the Bugatti Chiron.
Just five months later and we finally get to see the $1.9 million flex its muscles around the Nardo Technical Center test track, along with other lesser bulls. One Centenario feature we immediately noticed was its full carbon fiber body, which until now has been lit with artificial convention center lights. The carbon fiber pattern looks spectacular under the natural Italian sunshine, and reveals the Centenario’s true purpose for existence: going blisteringly fast around a track. However, the reality of this super exclusive Lamborghini (only 20 coupes and 20 roadsters in existence) will most likely mimic other super exclusive Lamborghini’s, and that’s to stay within a hermetically sealed garage. For now, it’s enjoying its moment in the sun.
