Not many sports cars can beat the Tesla Model S off the line. Tick the options on the electric car up to the top of the line P90D with “Ludicrous Mode” and you’d have to spend A LOT more money to destroy it off the line. Think supercar money. A 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds puts the Model S P90D in the very top of the supercar territory with the likes of the Lamborghini Aventador, the Porsche 911 Turbo S, and the Ferrari F12 tdf, to name a few.
So when this fairly unknown electric car out of Croatia came out with its production version in this year’s Geneva Motor Show, we were quick to shamelessly dub it: “The Tesla Model S Killer.” And you know what? We’re totally right! The video below is from the Archie Hamilton Racing Youtube channel showing the Rimac Automobili’s Concept_One go up against the Tesla Model S P90D. Not only did the Concept_One TOAST the Model S, it also beat the Ferrari LaFerrari, which isn’t a supercar but a proper Hypercar!
We can’t wait to see more of these comparisons and how the Concept_One will do around a track, any track. The low center of gravity and the Concept_One’s “All-Wheel Torque Vectoring”, thanks to its four individual motors driving each wheel, will certainly give it a unique advantage in many scenarios. We wonder how this will fare against the Porsche 918, the McLaren P1, and the venerable Koenigsegg One:1.
