There are many reasons for owning a Ferrari. Maybe you like the ire of random strangers, maybe you enjoy the ownership of fine Italian craftsmanship, or perhaps you plainly like something that’s very rare and very fast. The video revealed by Ferrari in celebration of their LaFerrari Aperta reveal in the 2016 Paris Motor Show, just properly captured all of the emotions of what a Ferrari ownership must feel like.
The video showcases Ferrari’s Formula 1 driver, Sebastian Vettel, quietly jumping in the 6.3 liter V12 Aperta that makes a total of 930 horsepower with its onboard 120 kW electric motor. Ferrari reminds the viewers that despite the hybrid drivetrain the essence of Ferrari is left intact, as visions of past great Ferraris are found in the reflections of the Aperta, beginning with the 1947 Ferrari 125 S, the first vehicle ever made by Ferrari.
We’d have to agree with the video. That’s exactly how driving a Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta would feel like if we owned one. Given that all 200 examples of the $2 million hybrid convertibles have been claimed (months ahead of its 2017 release date marking Ferrari’s 70th anniversary) it makes this video the most useless thing to have ever been produced. What were they thinking when they made this? Was it to make everyone else envious? Well, Congratulations Ferrari, Mission Accomplished!
