Toyota Wins SEMA With A Truck That Will Stomp Just About Anything At The Drag Strip

Toyota is not boring. This pretty much just proves it.

Say all you want about the topic. I don’t think it to be true anymore. Their commuter cars are boring, sure, but they’re also hugely reliable and when a non-enthusiast wants a car that is going to get them from point A to point B for the rest of eternity, Toyota is your company. However, when enthusiasts want something, we go elsewhere. But sometimes Toyota puts out one off toys that boggle our minds. Here’s a gleaming example of that.

At the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Toyota just unleash a 2000 (yes that’s 3 zeros) horsepower, 220 mph auto. Is it a Camry? A Corolla? Maybe a GT86?

Nope.

Toyota almost broke the internet today, revealing no less than 30 vehicles for this year’s SEMA show, and these are six of the most extreme builds.

The Land Speed Cruiser may look like a lowered, slightly modified Land Cruiser, but it actually takes the notion of the big SUV and throws it in the bin. Unlike its road-going counterpart, this concept was built for pure speed – hence the name – which may explain its 2000 hp 3UR-FE 5.7-liter V8 under the hood. The obscene amount of power makes it top out at 220 mph (354 km/h), leaving most sports car in the dust.

Be still my heart. The want is so strong here. I would daily this. I’m not a huge fan of lowered cars, but this just works and looks supremely good. It looks like the power wagon of everyone’s dreams and that is just fantastic. Throw in the 2000hp and 220mph figures and you have a yourself a true winner.

Toyota gets my vote for winning SEMA.
