This morning Toyota Gazoo Racing North America (TGRNA), made an exciting announcement for race fans. They have officially released the schedule and partial purse offerings for the inaugural GR Cup.
In partnership with the sanctioning body, SRO America, the GR Cup is providing drivers and teams the opportunity to compete with their Toyota GR86’s at some of North America’s most iconic racing venues. With places like Sonoma, Road America and Circuit of the Americas on tap for the single make series, each event weekend will consist of two races with a season total of 14 races.
David Wilson, President, Toyota Racing Development, had this to say about the schedule, “Everyone at Toyota is excited to unveil the GR Cup schedule along with some of our initial purse and prize offerings. The schedule takes our teams to some of the most iconic venues in racing across this country. Additionally, the initial purse offerings further show Toyota’s commitment to this series long-term. We are thrilled to be able to offer such a lucrative race and championship winning purse in our first season.”
In each of the 14 races TGRNA will pay an award for the top eight finishers up to $12,000 for the race winner. TGRNA will also award $50,000 for the season long championship. All additional prize packages and offerings will be unveiled at a later date.

October 6th – 8th – Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indianapolis, Indiana)
