Here’s Exactly How The Ford GT Order Process Works

The new Ford GT has been shrouded in secrecy ever since it’s unveiling at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. It was a mic drop moment. No one even knew it was going to be unveiled and no one outside of Ford knew it was even in the works. That’s the level of secrecy we’re talking about here.

So this year people got a chance to apply for the car. Once that happened, more secrecy until those lucky enough to get an allotment order were notified in August, but even then those lucky few had no idea what was going on. You can see the recurring theme. Well, as luck would have it, just the other day those notified in the first 500 units got another email with what seems to be a full ordering process and how it’s all going to go down. Finally we get to see how this all works.

YouTuber Tim Burton, better known as Shmee150, uploaded a video to his channel detailing the entire process since he was one of the chosen ones for the first batch of GTs.

What’s great about this is we get to see exactly how this will work. With Shmee being such a public figure in the auto world, and his signature POV vlog style, we’ll get a first hand view on exactly what’s going to happen throughout his whole GT journey. What’s also interesting is that not all Ford dealers will be able to work on the GT and that only certain, hand picked dealers will get a GT certification which will be unveiled to the owner by the order concierge during the process. For a high volume company, Ford sure does know how to put on a show.
