This afternoon SRO Motorsports America announced that they have changed the 2023 schedule and shifted the date of the New Orleans event. They will now race down south on April 28th – 30th.
NOLA Motorsports Park was initially added as a replacement venue last season. The fact that it’s a fast, technical circuit, combined with it’s close proximity to downtown New Orleans, made it a hit with both drivers and teams.
The reason for the change in dates is to avoid a clash with the SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli. They have also cited concerns regarding the manufacturer’s new car delivery dates.
The Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS 2023 season will now kick off at Sonoma Raceway, March 30th – April 2nd. This will allow teams additional time to receive and test before the season starts.
