Porsche and Xbox teaming up for Porsche’s 75th anniversary

Attention racing gamers, Porsche and Xbox announced today that they are teaming up for Porsche’s 75th anniversary and this is a collaboration that you don’t want to miss.

Xbox has worked closely with Xbox before, bringing the iconic brand to the Forza franchise, but this time they’ve gone a step further. Xbox are producing a limited collection of custom Xbox Series X consoles and matching wireless controllers based on six historic Porsche motorsport liveries.

“Many people who end up being our most dedicated fans had their first encounter with Porsche through gaming,” Vice President Global Marketing at Porsche AG, Robert Ader said. “That’s why it plays a key role for us to stay relevant not just among current fans but among new generations, showcasing in the most awesome and engaging way what our brand has to offer.”

Though the limited edition console designs will be revealed at major auto and gaming events around the globe this summer, they have revealed that they will be based on the following;

Porsche 911 GT1 that won Le Mans in 1998

Porsche Hippie. Unique racecar that was adorned with deep blue and bright green “hippie colors”

Porsche Pink Pig. This livery has since gained a cult following and is truly iconic

Porsche Salzburg. Gave Porsche their very first overall win at Le Mans

Porsche Racing Edition. Often referred to as The White Whale, or Moby Dick, due to it’s huge tail

Porsche 75th. The current livery on the Porsche 963, it incorporates and celebrates some of Porsche’s most famous racing colors

“Porsche is thrilled to team up Xbox to design custom limited-edition gaming consoles to continue inspiring gamers to dream – both virtually and in the real world,” Vice President of Marketing of Porsche Cars North America Inc, Ayesha Coker said. “With over 30,000 motorsports victories to date, it wasn’t easy to select only six liveries, but we’ve chosen some of the most iconic ones that our fans will recognize from notable victories over the years.”

These consoles might not be for retails, but over the next four months fans can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win one. Even if you’re not a motorsports gamer, the unique color schemes will create a striking design piece in your game room.
