Honda Civic Type R Video Reveals A Lot Of Details. Will Make Every Fanboy Shiver

Without a doubt, the all new 2017 Honda Civic Type R is the most hotly anticipated Honda in its American history. The upper echelon model, the Type-R, has been a foreign market exclusive for many decades, and it’s finally coming to U.S. shores. We’ve seen the prototypes unveiled in several auto shows by now, covered in a graphite metallic matte finish while PR folks tease and dance around unverified performance figures. But here it is, in all of its glory. The finished production version of the Type-R in Honda’s YouTube channel.

We see a lot more detail in this video as it focuses on the little design details obscured by teaser photos and the prototype’s blacked out windows. We see for certain a six speed manual transmission, the distinctive red racing seats, the race-inspired tachometer and shift lights. And we also finally hear the sound of the Type-R as it comes alive at the push of the start button. The distinctive Honda sound will have every fan begging for the VTEC to kick in yo, as the 2.0 liter four cylinder direct injected and turbocharged engine produce 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.
